DTF Gang Sheets Explained: How to Slash Your Cost Per Print

A gang sheet is a single roll of DTF film filled with as many designs as you can fit — different designs, different sizes, duplicates, all on one sheet. You pay for the length of film, not per design, which is why gang sheets are the single biggest money-saver in DTF printing.

The maths

Buy ten A5 transfers individually and you'll pay £21. Nest those same ten designs onto one metre of 33cm film — which they'll comfortably fit — and you pay £7.99. Same prints, same quality, less than half the cost. The bigger your order, the more dramatic it gets: our 5-metre sheet at £33.99 can carry fifty-plus mixed prints.

How to fill a sheet efficiently

Three rules. One: mix your sizes — big back prints leave gaps that pocket logos and sleeve prints fill perfectly. Two: keep 5mm between designs so they can be cut apart cleanly (our free builder enforces this automatically). Three: if you sell repeat designs, duplicate them to fill every remaining gap — unused film is money printed on nothing.

Using our free gang sheet builder

Upload up to 25 designs, drag and resize them in real centimetres, duplicate your bestsellers, add text for names and numbers, and hit auto-nest to pack everything tight. Designs land at their true 300dpi print size and never get resized behind your back. The price updates live as your sheet grows — 33cm wide, from 50cm (£4.49) up to 5 metres (£33.99). There's even a built-in background remover and a DPI check that warns you before anything prints blurry.

Who gang sheets are for

Anyone pressing more than a couple of prints: small clothing brands topping up stock, printers fulfilling customer orders, teams doing names and numbers, market traders stocking up for the weekend. If you press it, ganging it is cheaper. Build your first sheet — it's free to use and prices update as you go.
